We had a great workshop for our ongoing project funded by the DOE ESS program. We have a ton of idea to explore now. Thanks to our awesome collaborators including Jianqiu Zheng (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory), Eric Davidson (University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science), Michael Weintraub (University of Toledo), Patrick Megonigal (Smithsonian Environmental Research Center), and Lauren Kinsman-Costello (Kent State University).

Jack Kagan received an offer to participate in the prestigious Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)program at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) this summer. The SULI program is a highly competitive program that offers undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct research at a DOE national laboratory.

Excited to share that we will partner with Rodale Institute on a project funded by the USDA’s Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program. Project Title: Quantifying the Potential to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Increase Carbon Sequestration by Growing and Marketing Climate-Smart Commodities in the Southern Piedmont (Total Funding: $25,000,000).

We recently received an award from NSF DEB to improve our understanding of biophysical drivers of the CH4 source sink transition in Northern Forests. See here see project link for more information.

S.A. WILDE EARLY CAREER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD In further recognition of Dr. Wilde’s role as a mentor of developing soil scientists, the S.A. Wilde Early Career Achievement Award is established to recognize significant accomplishment in forest, range or wildland soil research by an individual up to seven years post completion of a terminal degree program.
